In this Agreement, “Card” means the Susquehanna Bank Teen Card, issued by Susquehanna Bank, as a Visa® general-purpose prepaid card holding the associated balance or funded value.  “Funding Account” means a Parent’s Susquehanna Bank consumer checking account and the associated Visa Check Card. “Parent” means a Susquehanna Bank consumer checking account customer, with an associated Visa Check Card, who is either the parent or legal guardian of the Teen.  “Teen” means a child of the Parent who is of at least 13 years of age and is authorized by the Parent to use the Card.  The words “you”, “your” and “yours” in this Agreement mean the persons, including the Parent and any Teen, authorized to use the Card as described below, who have received the Card from Susquehanna Bank.  The words “we”, “us” and “our” mean Susquehanna Bank, our successors, affiliates or assigns.

Section II. General Terms

These Susquehanna Bank Teen Card Terms and Conditions (hereinafter, “Agreement”) contain the terms that apply to your Susquehanna Bank Teen Card; the Card may be used only in the manner and for the purposes authorized by this Agreement.

Important Information about Opening Your New Card .

To help fight the funding of terrorism and money laundering activities, Federal law requires all financial institutions to obtain, verify and record information that identifies each person who opens a Card.

In order to receive a Card, the Parent must be a Susquehanna Bank customer with an open Funding Account in good standing.  The Parent and the Teen must be residents of the United States to be eligible to have a Card issued and to have value added to the Card. The Teen will be established as an authorized user of the Card and, as such, will be considered to be a customer of Susquehanna Bank.

You may not use the Card for any illegal purpose, including the purchase of illegal goods or services.  You agree to take steps to ensure that you do not use the Card, or any other account, for any transaction that is illegal under the laws governing your account.  Susquehanna Bank (as the issuer of the Card) reserves the right to deny transactions or authorizations from merchants apparently engaging in the Internet gambling business or identifying themselves through the Card transactions record or otherwise as engaged in such business.  Additionally, Susquehanna Bank reserves the right to otherwise block or deny transactions from any merchant as we deem fit, with or without notice.

By authorizing a Teen to use the Card, the Parent represents that such Teen is at least 13 years of age.

By signing, activating or accepting your Card or by allowing a Teen to use the Card, you agree to be bound by the terms and conditions contained in this Agreement which govern the use of the Card.  Read this Agreement thoroughly before the Teen signs or uses the Card and keep it for future reference.

Section III. Card Description and Function

The Card is a proprietary Visa general-purpose prepaid card.  The Card accesses funds previously loaded on the Card.

As part of the Card set up process, the Parent must designate a Funding Account from which funds may be transferred, as authorized, to the Card.  The Parent may designate up to two(2) Susquehanna Visa Check Cards as eligible to make transfers to a Card.  The Parent must notify us of the name, age, relationship and address of the Teen you authorize to use the Card.  Each Teen must have a separate Card. Each Parent may purchase a maximum of eight (8) Cards; one (1) Card each for up to eight (8) individual Teens.

The Card is not directly linked to any checking or credit card account.  The Card is neither a gift card nor a credit card.  No interest is charged on the balances transferred to the Card.  The funds reserved to the Card are FDIC-insured to the extent applicable to the Funding Account.

Section IV. Transaction Types, Limitations and Alerts

A. Using the Card

You may use the Card to:

  1. Pay for purchases of goods or services at merchants who accept Visa debit cards, and have agreed to accept the Card for point-of-sale transactions;
  2. Obtain cash at financial institutions that accept Visa debit cards;
  3. Perform transactions at an automated teller machine (“ATM”) that displays Susquehanna, Visa or Plus logos;
  4. Access online services to obtain Card balances and review recent Card history; and

You may not transfer the cash balance available on the Card to another bank or to another debit or credit card product.

B. Activating the Card and obtaining a PIN

The cardholder may select a Personal Identification Number (PIN), which will allow use of the Card at an ATM.  The Teen or Parent can activate the Card and select a PIN by visiting or calling 866.902.5938.  The Card and PIN are provided for your use and protection, and you agree to:

  1. Not disclose the PIN or record it on the Card or otherwise make it available to anyone else;
  2. Use the Card, the PIN and any ATM or point of sale terminal as instructed;
  3. Promptly notify us of any loss or theft of the Card or PIN;
  4. Be liable for any transaction made by a person you authorize or permit to use the Card and/or PIN. If you permit someone else to use the Card, we will treat this as if you have authorized this person to use the Card and you will be responsible for any transaction initiated by such person with the Card.

C. Adding funds and using the Card

Funds can be loaded through your Susquehanna Visa Check Card at  Upon authorization, funds will become available for use by the Card on the business day such transfer is made.

You may also load funds onto the Card at a Susquehanna Bank branch or at a Visa ReadyLink location with cash.For more information about Visa ReadyLink, visit  Additional terms and conditions may apply.

The maximum Card value at any one time is $1,000.00.  If the Card has $1,000.00 available, additional amounts may not be loaded onto the Card.

The maximum amount that can be loaded to the Card at any one time is $500.00 and no more than $1,000.00 in a seven (7) day period.

The initial Card load minimum is $25.00.  Thereafter, the minimum value that may be loaded onto the Card at any time is $25.00.

The maximum amount allowable for cash withdrawals from ATMs, cash back from merchants, and cash advances from financial institutions that accept Visa debit cards is $200.00 per seven (7) day period.  You may elect to allow no cash withdrawals on the Card or you may designate a withdrawal limit less than the maximum. The maximum amount allowable for purchases is $500 per transaction and $800 per seven (7) day period.

When the Card is used to obtain goods or services or to obtain cash, the merchant may attempt to obtain preauthorization from the Card for the transaction.  A three (3) business day hold may be placed on the Card for the amount of the preauthorization request. Certain types of transactions (like hotels and airlines) may have a seven (7) business day hold.  If the preauthorization request amount varies from the actual transaction post amount, the preauthorization hold amount may remain on the Card until the required number of days expires.  As a result, subsequent preauthorization requests against the hold amount may cause the transaction to be declined.  A pre-authorization amount may differ from the actual transaction post amount if the final amount of the transaction is unknown, such as when dispensing fuel or adding a tip at a restaurant.

You may not make or schedule pre-authorized, regular payments with the Card.

D. Text and Email Alerts

E. Conversion to U.S. Dollars

Transactions made in currencies other than U.S. Dollars will be converted into U.S. Dollars.  The exchange rate used to convert the currency used in an international transaction into the billing currency, shall, in each instance, be either a rate selected by Visa from the rates available in wholesale currency markets for the applicable processing date and may vary from the rate Visa itself receives, or the government-mandated rate in effect for the applicable processing date, plus our International Transaction Fee.  Conversion to U.S. Dollars may occur on a date other than the date of the transaction, and thus the actual conversion rate may differ from the rate in effect at the time of the transaction.  You agree to pay the converted amount plus any applicable conversion charges.

F. Card Expiration

The Card will have an expiration date of three (3) years after the date of purchase. At least two (2) weeks before the expiration date, a new Card with a new three (3) year expiration date will be mailed to the Parent, at the address on file, unless the Card has a negative balance. Any balance that is on the Card when it expires will be transferred to the new Card.

Section V. Payment

Each time the Card is used, the amount of the transaction will be debited from the Card balance.  You may not exceed the Card balance available on the Card by any individual or series of transactions.  If you conduct a transaction which exceeds the Card balance, you shall remain fully responsible for either the amount of the transactions approved or the cash withdrawn, and any applicable fees.  We reserve the right to automatically debit such amounts from transfers of funds to the Card.  An Overdraft fee will be charged each time the Card balance goes into the negative.  If a fee causes the Card to have a negative balance, the Overdraft fee will not be assessed.

You agree to immediately add funds to the Card for all transactions exceeding the Card balance, including any fees.  If there is still a negative balance after three (3) business days, we reserve the right to setoff such amounts from the Funding Account or any other account the Parent maintains at Susquehanna Bank, as applicable and pursuant to the terms of those accounts.  This right of setoff does not apply if prohibited by law.
